Orlando Theme Parks

14 Day Orlando Theme Park Itinerary

With 14 days to visit theme parks and attractions in Orlando you will be able to see a good majority of them and have enough time so you won't feel rushed. You will be able to do almost all of the major attractions Orlando has to offer but you will be able to wet your appetite enough that you will have to come back at a later time. Please remember these itineraries are only suggestions. Each family will be different so please use these as guides and suggestions and modify them to fit your family.

For families with young children (under 12)

Day 1: This is pretty obvious: Go See Mickey! A visit to the Magic Kingdom will be the centerpiece of your Orlando vacation, especially if you have young children. As they walk through the park and Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, and the rest of the Disney characters you will be able to see their eyes light up with joy.

Day 2: Take a visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom. With rides, shows, and live animals abounding you can spend a relaxing day with your family.

Day 3: Take a break from the theme parks and visit one of the Disney water parks. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon each offer a different experience so pick one and cool off.

Day 4: Head on over to Islands of Adventure. Some of the rides (Dueling Dragons and The Hulk) might be a bit too much for some of the younger children but with Seuss Land and Toon Island there will be more than enough to entertain children and adults alike. Be sure to watch the Sinbad stunt show.

Day 5: Take a trip over to Daytona Beach and enjoy the ocean and sand with the family. It is only about 60-90 minutes northeast of Orlando so the drive won't be too bad.

Day 6: You can visit one of the biggest and most popular water parks in the world at Wet 'n' Wild. With dozens of rides, flumes, and slides you are sure to find something to please everyone in your family.

Day 7: Explore the world at Epcot. Future World and the World Showcase feature exhibits, rides, and performances that will take you on a trip around the world all in one day.

Day 8: Visit Universal Studios Orlando and enjoy the rides, shows, and exhibits. Learn the ins and outs of some of the most dramatic effects used in TV and the movies.

Day 9: Take a trip through Hollywood by visiting Disney MGM Studios. Enjoy the Beauty and the Beast Stage Show, The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Fantasmic!, and more. Also, for you thrill ride enthusiasts, visit the Tower of Terror and the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Both of those rides are great and I would highly recommend them.

Day 10: Visit the water park you didn't go to on Day 3. Both parks are distinct and have something different to offer you. In the evening try one of the fabulous dinner shows that Orlando has to offer.

Day 11: Take a trip over to SeaWorld and see Shamu and his friends. The famous Orca and dolphin shows can't be missed and also check out the Kracken, one of the newest roller coasters in Orlando.

Day 12: Return to your favorite Disney park. If there was something you didn't see at one of the parks go back and see what you missed. You could also split the day between two or three parks if you would like.

Day 13: Head back to Islands of Adventure to revisit Seussland and check out the areas of the park you didn't get to earlier.

Day 14: This day can be used to revisit any of the parks you want to see again. I am sure you children will have a favorite park they want to see one last time.

The 6 day Park Hopper Plus pass will probably be your best bet for this plan. This ticket will give you 6 days at the theme parks plus three bonus days for the water parks or Disney's Pleasure Island for the adults. Combine this ticket with a 14 Day Orlando Flex ticket for Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, and Wet 'n' Wild and you will have seen most of the major attractions in Orlando. You can also order your Walt Disney World and Universal Studios tickets directly off our website here.

For families with older children (12+)

Day 1: Islands of Adventure. This park has more thrill rides than any of the other theme parks in Orlando. If you have a mix of older and younger children the parents can go play with the younger ones in Seuss Landing while the teenagers lose their lunch on the roller coasters.

Day 2: Wet 'n' Wild. With over 36 acres and dozens of slides, flumes, rides and more this #1 rated water park will be entertaining for adults and children alike

Day 3: Take a day trip over to Africa by visiting Busch Gardens in Tampa. It is only a little more than an hours drive from Orlando to get there so you can easily make the trip in one day. With great roller coasters and rides interspersed with live animals and performances it is a great way to spend the day.

Day 4: A visit to Disney/MGM Studios would be a good way to spend this day. With two thrill rides (Tower of Terror and the Rockin' Roller Coaster), live stunt shows, and other live performances this park will have something for everyone.

Day 5/6 Option: If you feel like seeing a bit more of Florida take a trip down to Ft. Lauderdale and do some deep sea fishing. It is about a 3 hour drive to get there. Most fishing charter boats run either half or full day trips. It will probably cost around $1000 for the charter but it should be something everyone does at least once in their life. You can browse through our Ft. Lauderdale hotels and look here for fishing charters. If this doesn't sound appealing to you then try out these other suggestions for these days:

Day 5: Visit Universal Studios. Some of the 3-D shows here (Terminator 2 in particular) are amazing. The combination of live action and special effects really draws you in to the story. Also don't miss the old standards like Jaws. The new Men In Black Alien Attack is also one of the most popular attractions in Orlando.

Day 6: On this day I would spend some time exploring some of the smaller attractions Orlando has to offer. Gatorland, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Silver Springs, and many other attractions offer you a chance to take a break from the fast paced theme parks. In the evening check out a dinner show at Arabian Nights or Medieval Times or take the family to one of the fabulous mini-golf courses around the area.

Day 7: Head over to Kennedy Space Center for the day. The Kennedy Space Center is about an hour east of Orlando and provides a great look into a working space center. If you time your vacation right you might even get to see a shuttle launch. If you aren't careful you and your children might even learn something.

Day 8: Go and see Shamu at SeaWorld. The famous orca and dolphin shows along with other sea creatures and exhibits will provide hours of entertainment. Also try the Kraken, the tallest and fastest floorless roller coaster in Florida.

Day 9: Time for a visit to the Magic Kingdom. Even older children and adults can help but be caught up in the Disney magic. Your teenage son might not want to run around getting hugs from Mickey and Pluto but they will still be able to have fun here.

Day 10: If you feel like taking a drive head on over to Daytona Beach. It is about 60-90 minutes northeast of Orlando and has one of the most famous beaches in the world.

Day 11: Take a trip to Epcot. Future World and the World Showcase feature exhibits, rides, and performances that will take you on a trip around the world all in one day. Once again you might be able to sneak something educational by your children here.

Day 12: Head back over to Islands of Adventure. If you missed some of the rides the first time this would be a great time to hit them. You can also split the day between Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios if you would like. It is only a 5-10 minute walk between the parks.

Day 13: Take a trip to one of the Disney water parks. In the evening the parents can enjoy a night out at Disney's Pleasure Island.

Day 14: Revisit your favorite park. By now you are sure to have found something you want to see one last time before you leave Orlando.

The 5 Park Flex Ticket would be the best way to go for this itinerary. It will get you unlimited admission to Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and Wet 'n Wild. The ticket is good for 14 days from the first day of use. If you don't want to take the trip over to Busch Gardens you can purchase the 4 Park Flex Ticket. For the Disney parks you will probably want to go with a 5 day Park Hopper Plus pass.
